A couple weeks ago, Olivia made a big new step(well, not literally): starting to eat solids! Her pediatrician gave us the okay, so we went out and bought bowls, spoons, and rice cereal for our baby girl!
Examining her new food and feeding devices.
She's not quite sure what to think of it yet....
Here's some shots from her first bites of rice cereal!
"That stuff's pretty tasty".
Despite getting a messy face and neck, she did a pretty good job eating and seemed to like it! She is still working on perfecting her eating techniques-- for example, sometimes she just sucks on the spoon, or puts her fist in her mouth and chews on it instead of letting us feed her. Also, sometimes she just wants to talk with Nick when he tries to feed her, but that gets a little messy!
We decided not to get her a high chair until after the move to our new apartment. So once we were sufficiently settled in, we ordered one and then eagerly awaited its arrival. Olivia sure was excited when it was finally delivered!
The box came with a baby instead of a high chair! Just kidding :)
She couldn't wait to open it!
Olivia loves her new high chair! She usually sits very patiently in it while we eat dinner and then we feed her some cereal when we are done. She finds the plastic tray particularly interesting and likes to touch it.
I'm so glad that she likes her new high chair and that she's starting to use her car seat just for sitting (instead of eating and sleeping, too).
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope Olivia had a Merry Christmas :)
