This 14 Month Old Girl

Olivia is nearly 14 months old, which means she's getting more hair to style :)

What a cutie!!
Here's the classic side barette:

Hmm, not exactly sure what game she's playing here...
Or we've started doing the whale spout:

Today we did pigtails for the first time, which were a big hit at church!

Olivia loves helping Becky get ready for the day.  She'll hand her make-up or help brush her hair.

Sometimes she likes to help Nick work out.  Here she is doing some pre-exercise stretches!

Basically wherever we go in the apartment, Olivia will eventually come, too.  Sometimes you gotta put her to work!

But don't worry, we leave plenty of time for reading and playing, too.

Olivia LOVES giving hugs (and we love getting them from her!).  She's especially fond of hugging her Pooh Bear and Piglet.

During our latest Disneyland trip, we had our picture taken with Mickey Mouse.  When we walked up to him, Olivia started laughing and giggling-- she definitely knows who Mickey is!

After this picture was taken, Becky went to go use a Fastpass on Space Mountain.  But close to the end of the ride, the car came to a sudden stop...then all the lights came on!  Apparently something happened to the ride's system and it had to be reset.  It was really interesting to see all the track inside the normally pitch-black ride.  Knowing that Nick would be jealous, Becky snapped some pictures of what it looked like!  Here they are for you to enjoy as well:

Cast members came around to all our cars to give us a push to make our way back to the station by gravity.  To make up for this "horrible inconvenience", they let us all stay on the ride and go on it again.  It was pretty awesome!

Summer in January

We are so lucky to have amazing weather where we live!  Today it was a high of 89 degrees here...yup, and it's the middle of January.  We had to take advantage of the summer-feeling weather and took a quick trip to the park today.  Here's a few snapshots of Olivia playing!

New Things in 2014

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We are excited for 2014 and what it will bring us!  We had a fun New Years Eve party with some friends in our ward and actually stayed up til midnight to watch the ball drop (Olivia tried her hardest but only made it to 11:45pm.  Pretty good for a 1 year old though!) We have already experienced some new things this year.  Nick and Becky bid farewell to their old phones and upgraded to smartphones...yes, we have finally entered the 21st century!  We also got new numbers, which is going to take some getting used to!

Olivia is starting off the new year by getting some new teeth.  After these 3 finally make their way through she will have 14!  She also started a new trick which we are very excited about-- it's called walking :)

Merry Christmas To All!

Christmas sure snuck up on us this year!  Between Nick wrapping up his semester of school and Becky working more at her new job, we were one of those last minute shoppers frantically running around the mall this past weekend.  On Monday morning we drove over to Phoenix to spend a couple days with Becky's family for Christmas.  It's been a short trip, but so worth it-- it's so adorable to see the cousins starting to interact and play with each other more!  We had a wonderful Christmas Day, full of generous gifts and delicious food.  We love Christmas time!

Olivia's 1st BirthThanksDayGiving!

So everyone was looking forward to Thanksgiving, November 28th, all November long.  But instead, our family was looking forward to November 27th...OLIVIA'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!!

To be honest, I think we were more excited about it than Olivia, but she got into it as the day went on.

We started off the day by singing "Happy Birthday" to Olivia when she woke up.  She loves music so she thought this was pretty funny.  Then we opened a few presents!

Peekaboo!

The love for Legos begins young in the Thacker family!
Then we went and saw the new Disney movie "Frozen", it was so cute!  Olivia was good at sitting and watching it for most of the time, but toward the end she got tired and a little fussy.  When it was over we came home and she took a long  birthday girl nap.  Then we opened the rest of her presents!  She got pretty good at helping take off the wrapping paper.

After playing with her new toys for a while it was time for birthday cake!

Olivia is a pretty cautious little girl and usually doesn't like trying new foods or touching new things, but she played with her cake for a little and even ate a tiny bit!

Olivia loved all of her presents!  It was a pretty awesome first birthday :)

Oh yeah, and then the next day was Thanksgiving!  It was just the three of us at home, but we made a delicious feast!

"Yum!"
Olivia also got to play lots more with her new toys.

Olivia loves to make music/dance to all the music her new toys play.  She especially liked the music when we watched "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" that evening.

We are SO grateful for all our recent blessings, especially Becky's new nursing job and our beautiful one year old little girl!
