All Hands on Deck

Have we mentioned lately how hilarious Olivia is?  Her latest funny quirk is liking to hold a pair of things in her hands.  Pretty much all the time.  Sometimes it's a couple of her stacking cups...

...or she'll hold a pair of socks...

Silly girl!
...but her favorite by far is holding two linking rings.

These little beauties go everywhere with Olivia-- play dates, car rides, the grocery store, even the bathtub sometimes!  We love it because when she crawls around the house with them in her hands, you can hear her coming when she crawls across the tile.  She's like a little horse!  Which is why her new nickname is Li'l Sebastian :) [All you "Parks and Rec" fans will appreciate that one]

Here she is playing at the park with them.  And yes, she successfully held them the whole stroller ride there and back without dropping them!

Bedtime Story

Every night before we put Olivia to bed, Nick reads some books to her.  This time, however, Olivia decided she would be the one doing the reading :)

Gettin' Bigger Every Day!

When you're 10 months old, you can do some pretty cool big girl stuff.  For example, you can read books more often by yourself.

You can also (attempt to) drink from water bottles.

It's really fun to chat/wrestle with your Pooh Bear.

And, since you have 3 1/2 teeth, you can try new and exciting foods.

Olivia's first taste of In 'N' Out french fries!
She wasn't really a fan...
And like all big people, you can start taking "selfies".

Oh, doesn't Olivia just look so big in all these pictures!?  I guess we better start accepting that our baby girl is growing up and is going to turn ONE next month!

Olivia is 10 Months!

Yup, our baby girl is getting bigger!  She is now a whopping 17 pounds 8 ounces and 27 inches long (20th percentile on both weight and height).  The downside of our 10 month check-up was we discovered that Miss Olivia has an ear infection--we knew that she wasn't feeling her best but just thought it was teething pain.  So now we have the pleasure of giving a wiggly baby girl ear drops every 4 hours and trying to keep her from spitting out the antibiotics we have to give her 2 times a day.

Even when she's not feeling her best, Olivia still has plenty of energy to be curious all around the house:

She LOVES the blinds and looking out onto the balcony!

It's amazing the things you'll find stuck between your couch cushions...

Gotta explore every nook and cranny, including behind the fridge.

Dismantling her box of diapers...

...then fleeing the crime scene!  But she looks a little suspicious, don't you think?

The Cool Down

It's finally starting to cool off and feel a little bit like Fall here!  When it's warm, sometimes you have to come up with creative ways to stay cool--and it just so happens, Olivia is an expert at that!

One day she decided to beat the heat by playing in the bathtub...

Or the pool is always a good and fun option...

When all else fails, standing right in front of the AC feels very refreshing!

The Pincer Grasp

Olivia has been working really hard lately on mastering the pincer grasp.  She loves eating Puffs, and we have been trying to show her that she can pick them up and eat them on her own without us having to put them in her mouth for her (what a foreign concept!).  Now we can put a few Puffs on her tray and she will feed them to herself, which is nice and convenient for all three of us!

But we gotta share this video from one of Olivia's early attempts to feed herself-- she would always pick up a Puff, get distracted, forget that she was holding it, and then drop it.  She makes some pretty good faces during it too.  Our baby girl is hilarious!
