Sunday Best

Olivia was just so cute this morning, we had to do a quick pre-church photoshoot:

Meet Olivia.

On November 27th, we finally got our little girl, Olivia!
Olivia's first picture on the outside!

She and Becky are both doing great.  Even though the doctors estimated that she would be small for her gestational age, she was born a healthy 5 lbs 13 oz! Olivia is now almost 3 weeks old.  Her hobbies include:
  • practicing tummy time,
  • swinging,
  • taking baths,
She was very concerned about staying modest
  • chilling in her Boppy,

  • and looking at the Christmas tree lights.

Most of all, she enjoys getting lots of beauty sleep.  Basically, she's the cutest, most awesome baby ever and we love her lots!

Halloween Time!

Goodness, is it really almost November?!  October seems to have gone by very quickly, but unfortunately we have been pretty boring.  Nick goes to school, Becky goes to work, and Baby Girl goes to the doctor every 2 weeks.  The neonatologist is still monitoring her growth--she's still just on the small side of growth patterns, but he assures us that she is indeed growing.  Right now she is a little more than 3 pounds and LOVES to move, all the time.

Nick's parents were in town this past week so we used that as an excuse to visit Hollywood Boulevard again  with his mom.  Here's us with the hand/footprints of the Harry Potter stars:

Why yes, we did both get haircuts, thank you for noticing!
Then, we drove on up to the Warner Brothers Studio and got to go to a filming of Conan O'Brien!  It was a lot of walking, but we got to see the some of the rooftops of Stars Hollow!  Totally worth it.  Once we were sitting in the studio and waiting for the show to start, a comedian came out to "warm" the crowd up and get us excited for the show.  He was joking around and talking to a couple audience members who both happened to be pregnant, and then asked "Who else in here is pregnant?"  So Becky raised her hand, and the comedian talked with both of us for a couple minutes, which was pretty cool.

Saturday was our ward Halloween party!  There was lots of yummy food and lots of adorable kids running around.  We made chili for the cook-off contest and actually won!  The only downside was since people thought it was so tasty, there were no leftovers for us to bring home at the end of the activity.  Oh well.

Nick working on our soon-to-be award winning chili!

We went as black-eyed "P"s-- the adults in our ward found it hilarious, but we tried explaining it to a couple primary kids and they just gave us blank stares...
33 week baby bump picture, woot woot!
As for our actual Halloween night plans, we'll probably just relax at home-- we're not expecting many trick-or-treaters since we live in a gated complex.  We'll eat leftover candy and Nick will force Becky to watch a scary movie in the dark...oh what a wonderful holiday.

Happy Halloween!!

The Skinny On Baby Girl

Last week we visited the neonatologist (basically, an infant specialist) to check the growth of our baby.  Like the previous ultrasounds have shown, she is on the small side, but not enough to cause worry yet.  She's just not focusing on building baby fat around her abdomen right now-- just a skinny li'l girl!  We'll go back in about a month to make sure she is still growing fine.  So, even though we had to pay $16 to park at the doctor (seems like you have to pay to park ANYWHERE here!), we did get a DVD of our ultrasound and some new baby pictures...so that made it a little more worth it.  Here she is, 27 weeks!

Oh and here's a baby bump picture. Ta-da!

Walk Down Hollywood Boulevard

On Monday we visited the Hollywood area of LA.  We walked around the famous Grauman's Chinese Theatre, looked at all the stars on Hollywood Boulevard, and even went in a wax museum!  Here are some pictures of our celebrity-filled afternoon!

First week in our new place!

We have now been in our new apartment one week, and we have been pretty productive!  All of our boxes are unpacked, our furniture is in place, and almost all our walls have things hung up.  After a few more finishing touches, we will put up a grand tour so you can get a better idea about our new house.  It took a few days to get the internet up and running (and a very frustrating visit from an AT&T technician), but now that we have it, we are diligently looking for jobs anywhere and everywhere.

But also, since we have a lot of time on our hands and honestly don't have anything else better to do, we have been having fun, too :)  We made the drive down to Anaheim (30-40 min.) on Tuesday and got to walk around Downtown Disney for a few hours.  We spent a good amount of time in the Lego store, of course...

And we had to look at everything in the World of Disney store!  There were lots of other cool stores that we poked around in, too.  It was a little sad to not be able to go in the parks, but we still had fun.

Look at that girl's HUGE baby bump!  Are you sure she's only 21 weeks pregnant?!
We took advantage of our complex's pool and went swimming a couple days ago.  Yesterday we walked around Loyola Marymount University to get a little better acquainted with the campus.  It's no BYU, but it looks like a really nice campus.

We made a blog!

Well, with lots of new life changes fast approaching, we decided the time has come to create a Thacker blog!  We'll keep you up to date on all of our adventures.

The biggest thing going on right now is we are moving to Los Angeles in THREE days!  Yup, California is about to get two (and a half) new citizens-- we are eager to trade in our embarrassing Utah drivers licenses for California ones.  The bad part is right now our apartment is depressingly empty.  It seems all interesting blogs have lots of pictures, but it seems kinda pointless to put up photos of our blank white walls and piles of boxes.

Instead, we'll share our baby girl's first photoshoot!  :)
